SACRED HEART SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL

Established in 1990, Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School is a co-educational institution. It is administered by the Sacred Heart Educational Society, Rajiv Nagar, a Social Organization registered in Lucknow under the Societies Act XXI of 1860. The School is a private unaided institution affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) up to class XII. Admission is open to everyone on the basis of merit without any discrimination of religion, caste, creed or culture.

The Sacred Heart School aims at imparting to its pupil a sound moral, emotional, intellectual and physical education. It is committed to integral education of all pupils which would enable them to be global citizen worthy of this great nation.

JYOTIRGAMAYA as the name connotes, signifies, "towards enlightenment". It means spreading of light. We equip our students with knowledge so that they can illuminate the society and the world with their enlightened heart and intelligence. We pay special emphasis on their moral values, physical fitness, dignity and mental alertness. Children entering the school may thus realize the true meaning of life and leave with a "Sacred Heart" to face the world.

Infrastructure

The school is located in Rajiv Nagar, a quiet place free from pollution and crowded streets of city. Spread over 2 acres of land the school is surrounded by lush green atmosphere. The classroom are spacious, airy with proper ventilation, air circulation and natural light. The school has a big playground. Full provisions for indoor and outdoor games are available. Sports and games are a necessary and compulsory part of the curriculum.

Library

The school library is a huge trove of knowledge and information with a collection of more than 4500 books. It contains books from a wide range of subjects and topics catering to the age group of 3 and above. The school library boasts of books of all religion, every subject, encyclopedias, fiction, hobby books, autobiographies and self help books etc. Students also have access to the rich collection of CD to enrich their knowledge with the help of multimedia.

Faculty

The school has faculty of competent and trained teachers and conducts classes through the medium of English. Music, dance, art, craft, instrumental music, and physical training are all part of the students curriculum. Lessons in all subjects are taught with lots of activities. At SHS, we believe learning should be related to life, encouraging students to learn by doing in a conducive environment. School follows a definite and appointed course of study as per regulation of the CBSE, Delhi.

Activities

Students are offered a variety of activity to join, these activities are conducted daily during the zero period. Students according to their interest and aptitude can join club like the Eco Club, Health and Well Being Clubs, Art, Dramatics, Craft, Origami and Paper Work, G.K., Social Work, etc.

E-Care

A service whereby parents and school will be in constant touch through SMS and E-mail. This facility will help in the smooth functioning of the school by keeping you aware and update with any change in the schedule caused by sudden administrative changes or school events.

1. Curriculum

The school is divided into five sections:

  • (I) Foundation: Class PG to II
  • (II) Primary: Class I to V
  • (III) Middle: Class VI to VIII
  • (IV) Secondary: IX & X
  • (V) Senior Secondary: XI & XII

The school prepares its students to appear in the CBSE conducted examination at the end of class X and XII.

3. Admissions

  • Registration and admission to all the classes are held in the month of Feb. & March for the following academic year.
  • Children above the age of 2 years can be enrolled in the play group.
  • Children seeking admission to Nursery Classes should have completed 3 years and 6 months as on the first of April of that academic year.
  • Admission to Pre-Primary Classes is done on first come first serve basis.
  • Admission to other classes is made after a pre-admission test.

2. Discipline

"Discipline is mental and physical self control resulting into orderliness, proper submission of capacity and co-operation".

The school operates houses system through Houses Captains, Vice-Captain and Prefects. Authority is delegated to the senior student so that they become responsible and develop trust and get sense of fulfillment.

Certain Rules for Students:

  • (i) Students of all the classes should attend the assembly in the morning. Late arrival after the Second bell may not be admitted to class.
  • (ii) Parents or their servants are not to enter any class room without permission.
  • (iii) No child is to be absent without leave application. Medical certificates are required for infectious diseases.
  • (iv) Any kind of damage done to school articles or premises must be made good by the student.

School Examination & Progress Report

  • Two terms: Mid Term (Sept) and Final Term (March).
  • Continuous appraisal: 2 appraisals per subject in each term.
  • Home assignments & activities carry 5 marks each in assessment.
  • Progress reports are issued after the Half-Yearly and Annual Examination.
  • Duplicate report card: Rs. 100/- if original is lost.

General Rules: Parents to Note

  • Parents are expected to co-operate in enforcing regularity and discipline.
  • No jewelry (except watch) or make-up of any kind is to be used.
  • Nails are to be kept short and clean; nail polish is not allowed.
  • Boys should keep their hair short.
  • Withdrawal requires one month's notice in writing or a month's fee.
  • Transfer Certificate will be issued on payment of Rs. 200/-.

Fee Regulation

  • Fees must be paid by the 10th of every month.
  • After the 10th, a late fine of Rs. 50/- per week will be charged.
  • If fees are unpaid for 2 consecutive months, names will be struck off the rolls.
  • Fees once paid are non-refundable.

Boys: White half-sleeve shirt (monogram), Grey trousers/shorts, school tie/belt, black leather shoes.

Girls: White half-sleeve shirt (monogram), Grey skirt/trousers, school tie/belt, white band/ribbon.

Winter Uniform

Boys: White full-sleeve shirt, Grey trousers, Navy Blue sweater/blazer with monogram.

Girls: White full-sleeve shirt, Grey skirt/trousers, Navy Blue sweater/blazer.

P.T. (Wed & Sat)

Both: House color T-shirt with monogram, White trousers/skirt, White socks, and White canvas shoes.
